Enquiry Based Assessments
Focus on questions that require students to apply knowledge in unique ways. Rely on investigation and problem-solving (Deignan, 2009). Examples:
•Health: Students act as public health experts tasked with addressing a health issue in a specific community facing social, economic, and environmental challenges. They design a health improvement plan that includes preventative measures, health promotion strategies, support services for affected individuals, and evaluation methods to monitor success.
•Food: Students act as sustainable food production specialists tasked with developing a meal plan for the school cafeteria that promotes healthy eating while addressing environmental and economic challenges. They create a balanced menu that incorporates local, seasonal ingredients, minimises food waste, and considers dietary restrictions.
